醒 (Xing), Red and White

Our first lion is painted in a lucky shade of red. He works best paired with our other red and yellow lions (but can be partnered with any of our lions)!

Hung Ci's first lion, 醒 (Xing), is named to honor the awakening of our troupe's birth. In just two years, Xing has come to life on stages and in stadiums—bowing before Vice President Kamala Harris, honoring Governor Wes Moore, opening the Kennedy Center with grace, and playfully chasing Presidents at Washington Nationals Park.

Through 醒 (Xing), Hung Ci has captivated thousands, brilliantly showcasing the richness and vibrancy of Chinese Traditional Lion Dancing.

Yellow Lion

Yellow lions traditionally symbolize LIU BEI, with a wizened and elderly temperament. He is proud and regal.

Yellow lions are often booked with our red lions as a standard lucky color pairing, or in a trio with black and red!

Black Lion

Traditionally, black lions are rough, youthful, and hot-headed. He is the most fierce of our lions and moves according to his whims.

Try booking him with our purple or green lions for a darker color palette, or try black, red, and yellow for a traditional "Three Kingdoms" combination!

Sporting a deep purple coat and striking golden eyes, our purple lion is a regal and beautiful addition to your event.

The purple lion provides eye-catching contrast when paired with our yellow lion. It also meshes nicely with out black lion due to their similar patterning.

Eye dotting is performed to awaken a lion for the very first time, to allow it to bring good luck and fortune with every step, and to limber its joints so that it can begin to move.

Drops of ink are symbolically painted along each eyelid, the ears, nose, and mouth to give the lion expression in those areas. The ink is then brushed in a sweeping stroke across the lion's back so that it can truly awaken!
